One thing you can expect at an IHRSA trade show is the unexpected. You can say the same about Zumba - at a trade show or anywhere, really.

So it can as no surprise when Beto Perez, the founder of Zumba, showed up at the booth at the 14th IHRSA Fitness Brasil Latin American Conference & Trade Show and led a workout.

Work out for a good cause at Zumbathon for ALS during convention

Augie Nieto and his wife, Lynn, among a throng of Zumbathon participants during the IHRSA 2012.The Zumbathon for ALS at IHRSA’s Annual International Convention & Trade Show is always a high-energy event that not only gets the blood flowing and sweat beading, but also supports a great cause.

The event, on Wednesday, March 20, 7 to 8:30 p.m., benefits Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Augie’s Quest, which is named for Augie Nieto, co-founder of Life Fitness, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2005. Augie’s Quest supports fast-track, innovative research seeking effective treatments, and, ultimately, a cure for ALS.

Zumba co-founder Beto Perez will lead the Zumbathon in the Mandalay Bay ballroom for hundreds of fans. The event will feature, for the first time, Zumba Sentao, which uses a chair to balance, strengthen and stabilizes the core for a full-body workout.
