TV show is rescuing gyms and its members

"Gym Rescue" hosts Randy Couture, left, and Frank Shamrock, right, talk to a gym owner. (Photo courtesy Spike TV)The rescue show format for gyms is finally here.

We wrote about Spike TV’s “Gym Rescue” in September and the first show ran Sunday, Aug. 10. The next show is Sunday, Aug. 17, 10 p.m. EST (repeat Aug. 18, 1 a.m.).

The show has former MMA fighters Randy Couture and Frank Shamrock attempt to turn failing gyms into successes - for both owners and members.

While there tends to be plenty of yelling by the hosts - typical for these types of shows like "Bar Rescue," "Restaurant Impossible" and "Hotel Rescue" - the message is positive: gyms are the places to help fight the obesity epidemic in the United States.

SPRI is one of the sponsors of the show, donating equipment to the gyms.

Check out more on Spike TV’s website.
