An MVP decision to rent space for fundraising

When MVP Sports Clubs’ RDV Sportsplex in Orlando came upon some extra space in its parking lot it made a decision that has benefitted many in the community.

The lot had been leased to the Orlando Magic players, but after a new arena was built the fitness club had unused area.

After much consideration RDV decided to allow food trucks to rent space on Fridays from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., and in turn the club donates the rental fees to a local charity. Since April $35,000 has been donated. A different charity benefits each month.

“Our leadership group clearly felt we had an opportunity to help local organizations assist those who need it most, while helping out small business and providing a fun lunch alternative,” said MVP Sports Clubs President Karl Droppers. RDV’s first Food Truck Friday seven months ago opened to large crowds and many of the vendors sold out of their items quickly. “Many of the trucks said they had never seen anything like it."
