Music Licensing

Don’t let costs get in the way of protecting your club.

ASCAP and BMI provide discounts to IHRSA members, helping you to protect your club without breaking the bank. In turn, they ensure creators get paid for their work so they can keep making music that gets your members moving. Each of these organizations represents a different catalog of music.

ASCAP

ASCAP makes it simple for you to play the music you want, legally and affordably. Instead of getting permission from hundreds of thousands of songwriters individually, one ASCAP license gives your facility access to over 16 million songs in its repertory, written by ASCAP members like Olivia Rodrigo, Jay-Z, Aerosmith, and Katy Perry. IHRSA members in good standing receive a first-year 10% discount when they sign up for a new ASCAP Fitness License and 5% for every year after that! (This offer is open to new ASCAP licensees as well as licensees who transition to the new ASCAP Fitness License.)

BMI

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) represents the public performance rights in nearly 14 million musical works created and owned by hundreds of thousands of songwriters, composers, and music publishers, from chart toppers to perennial favorites. Their artists span all genres of music and are consistently among the most-performed hits of the year. BMI negotiates music license agreements and distributes the fees it generates as royalties to its affiliated writers and publishers when their songs are performed in public. As an IHRSA member you can save up to 15% off your BMI Fitness License by licensing and paying your fees online.
