SEATTLE, WA—December 6, 2022—SportsArt, a leader in socially responsible fitness equipment and solutions for over 40 years, is taking its environmentally conscious line of products to the sea, providing the energy-generating fitness equipment that will power the world’s first floating fitness league.

United Kingdom-based MDL Fitness and SA Green Solutions have partnered to launch the Boaters Super League, a global competition that can measure the output of an exercise routine with SportsArt’s ECO-POWR line, which converts human kinetic energy into clean electricity that can be sent back through the yacht's power grid to offset energy consumption or to recharge batteries. Thanks to MDL’s offering of a “green gym” option, which can be installed on a new build or retrofitted onto an already established private or charter yacht, SportsArt equipment will be the catalyst for the new program. MDL’s green gym is designed to work with any on-board power systems and is supported by a global network of engineers.

“Members can track their energy production, machine usage stats, and compare their progress against other yachters through local and global watts produced leaderboard,” said Tim Mayer, MDL sales and marketing director. “Members can talk to each other via the forum and get great content via the MDL Fitness website. This is the perfect fitness solution to inspire today’s environmentally conscious boaters.”

SportsArt’s ECO-POWR line uses proprietary technology that converts up to 74% of human energy into clean, renewable energy, generating up to 220 Wh of electricity per hour workout, or enough to power a computer for more than two hours. The line includes a variety of cardiovascular equipment, including treadmill, cross training, elliptical, stepper and cycle products so boaters have an exciting and engaging variety of ways to work out. No matter where ECO-POWR equipment is being used, it inspires performance and helps change the world one workout at a time.

“At SportsArt, we are focusing on providing green fitness for every lifestyle,” said Ruben Mejia, executive vice president, SportsArt Americas. “Our ECO-POWR line offers something for everyone, from the people working out at their local gym to those competing in the Boaters Super League on a luxury yacht.”
