BOSTON, MA—August 13, 2020—Jason Reinhardt, Chair of the IHRSA Board of Directors, has announced that effective immediately, he would be stepping down as chair and as a board member. In a Board of Directors Meeting on Wednesday, August 12, Reinhardt announced that he has decided to resign as the Chair of the IHRSA Board after serving in this role for the last 14 months.

“I will now be concentrating on my family and my business,” said Reinhardt, who had spent the past 5 years as a board member committed to guide and support IHRSA and its staff.

When Reinhardt began serving on the IHRSA Board, he distinguished himself as the chair of the Nominations Committee. “I joined this board to ‘Make A Difference’ like I do everything else in my life,” said Reinhardt.

In his parting words, he told the incoming board nominees that he was excited for them to make positive changes for the future success of IHRSA. And to the board members that are truly trying to save and help IHRSA, keep fighting and supporting the loyal and committed staff!

In speaking about the IHRSA staff, he said, “You all are rockstars and I have the utmost confidence that you will bring IHRSA and the industry back to greatness, and emerge from the global crisis stronger than ever.”

“To the industry, the world is so divided right now in everything and it's a shame. I hope you all come together and rally behind IHRSA, the IHRSA staff, and our amazing industry.”

The Nominations Committee of the Board is discussing options to fill the officer position of the Chair and will make a thoughtful, informed recommendation to the full board in the near future. Until a decision is made, Vice-Chair Carrie Kepple of Styles Studio Fitness will assume the duties of the Chair.

“All the best and as always - Go M.A.D. Go Make A Difference!” said Reinhardt.

“Over the past five years, Jason Reinhardt has served the industry and IHRSA with honor and distinction. It has been a pleasure to work alongside a leader who has always acted with integrity, putting the interests of the IHRSA membership and the association first and foremost,” said Joe Moore, IHRSA president and CEO. “We thank him for his valuable service and wish him nothing but the best.”
