BOURBONNAIS, IL—June 13, 2019—Fitness Premier, a gym franchise that has 11 locations throughout Central Illinois and North West Indiana, awarded scholarships to 8 local 2019 graduates at a luncheon held on June 13.
This is the third year that Fitness Premier's community outreach program, FP Cares, has chosen recipients for the scholarship. Criteria for the $1,000 scholarship included a 3.5 or higher GPA, participation in a sport, and demonstration of good sportsmanship on and off the field. Owner of Fitness Premier, Jason Markowicz welcomed students and their parents by highlighting the students' achievements and congratulating them by stating, "The ability to keep up with your studies and be a successful athlete can be difficult. The GPA standard of this group is extraordinary and it's something we wanted to recognize and celebrate." This year's recipients included Hailey Jannsen (Beecher), Lauren Thomas (Bourbonnais), Kaitlyn Bruns (Crete-Monee), Adam Edwards (Lowell), Brian White (Manhattan), Alyse Crowe (Manteno), Allison Schrock (Pontiac), and Samantha Goerne (Streator). All students will be attending a college or trade school in the fall.
