AUSTRALIA—January 27, 2021—On July 21 and 22, Australia’s only Fitness & Recreation Industry Technology Summit will take place in Sydney and could well be the country’s first face to face business event in 2021. This year the event has opened up to the recreation industry and announced today a monthly webinar series.

“The success of the 2019 event meant we would always do it again and we are excited that in 2021 we have 3 unique aspects to the event that we know delegates will truly value,” said Justin Tamsett, Managing Director of Active Management and founder of the Fitness & Recreation Industry Technology Summit.

In 2021, on the final Friday after every month from January to June there will be a webinar for all delegates to the summit. This is included in their registration and gives them an opportunity to ask questions to overseas experts who could not fly into Australia for the event.

“This gives every delegate 6 extra hours of education on using technology in their business,” said Tamsett.

The first webinar on Friday 29 January with Dr. Ted Vickey is free. As a world leader in using technology to create experiences for members, he will share the variety of technology to help staff, members and clients.

“We want to give the entire industry an opportunity to hear and see first-hand the quality of speakers we have organised, so the first webinar with Ted is available for the entire industry.”

The Tech Summit will soon reveal the categories for the inaugural Technology Awards that will be given out at the Gala Night on the 22 July. There will be 3 categories and more will be announced in March.

Finally, at the Gala Night the key note speaker will be Amanda Stevens. A past presenter at numerous fitness events, Amanda is an industry favourite. She is a member of a club, knows the industry and is passionate about leading the industry into a strong position post-COVID.

“We are very excited with what will be a step up on our first event,” said Jess Abbey, FRITS 2021 organiser. “We are still finalising our speaker line up. We will help clubs navigate the legal mind field of data, inspire what is possible for communicating with members, and run to two workshops to take the theoretical knowledge and turn it into actions. Add in the networking drinks and the annual Fitness Business Podcast Meet-up and it will be an action packed two days!”

“I believe this will be one very exciting event for the fitness industry in Australia. Two days with 100% focus on technology will help future proof every fitness business,” concluded Tamsett.
