Aktiv Solutions Expands Virtual Training Fitness Platform

Aktiv Virtual can be found at leading hotels throughout North America.

SANTA MONICA, CA—March 6, 2019—Functional fitness industry leader, Aktiv Solutions, has now expanded the distribution of its ground-breaking Aktiv Virtual platform to hotels and resorts beyond North America. Having successfully launched its pilot system as part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ in-room program “Five Feet to Fitness” in 2018, the platform is now destined for an estimated 5,000 hospitality guest rooms and fitness centers worldwide.

Aktiv Virtual is a personalized functional training experience designed to deliver guided workouts for exercisers of all types and skillset. Virtual trainers lead each user though the training session with expert level coaching, personalization and motivation. Users select workouts by genre, time, degree of difficulty, and even their favorite trainer. The system also syncs seamlessly with a user’s wireless Bluetooth headphones for a more immersive experience.

“We’re thrilled to have gained such strong early adoption and look forward to placing the Aktiv Virtual platform in even more facilities worldwide.” said Bryan Green, Founder & CEO, Aktiv. “As it relates to hospitality in particular, the guest experience is always top-of-mind for operators. Our system fills a gap left by the largely unsupervised environments found in the hotel gym. Aktiv Virtual allows the guest to select any workout type they desire for their session. It’s like having your choice of a new personal trainer and workout style every time you hit the gym—taking the guesswork out of one’s workout.”

Aktiv Virtual can be found at leading hotels throughout North America. Across Hilton Hotel & Resorts’ portfolio of brands to Accor Group properties including Sofitel Mexico City, Fairmont Kea Lani, and Fairmont Orchid as well as independent properties like Silicon Valley’s new Park James Hotel, Aktiv Virtual offers travelers comprehensive workouts that rival trendy fitness studios but in the comfort and convenience of their hotel.

“Today’s travelers expect state-of-the art amenities and innovative workout solutions while on the road. At Accor we’re working to exceed those expectations—by a long-shot. The Aktiv Virtual system allows our guests to select highly personalized workouts including equipment selection, intensity, and even their own coach. All of this in a compact footprint the size of a treadmill. We are getting great feedback on the offering” said Daniel Poulin, Director of Spa & Fitness, North & Central America for AccorHotels.

In addition to in-room and in-fitness center placements, Aktiv has developed No Sweat Zones that allow conference attendees to break from their schedules to stretch, move, or simply roll out. The Aktiv Virtual system in this way is ideal for corporate settings from offices to conventions and meeting spaces without the need to change into workout apparel.
