IHRSA 2002: Even More Reasons to Attend!

Boston – November 14, 2001- The location isn’t the only thing revised for IHRSA 2002, IHRSA’s 21st Annual International Convention & Trade Show. New to the program this year are some different educational tracks including the "How To…" track and a track focused specifically on "Public Policy". These new tracks, in addition to several others, will assist attendees in choosing which session is right for them.

For example, club professionals interested in taking customer service to the next level, will want to consider the "Supreme Service" track. Like all of the tracks, "Supreme Service" features experts from both inside and outside the club industry. This year, customer service training professionals from Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Disney will provide attendees with insight from the some the best names in customer service.

"We wanted to keep the line-up fun and interesting while at the same time, making it easier for convention attendees to track down the speakers that would best help them, which is why we are offering eight new tracks this year," said John McCarthy, executive director at IHRSA. From club owners and CEOs to the freelance personal trainer and front desk supervisor, there will be a lecture to answer everyone’s needs."

Examples of other new tracks include:

  • "How to…"- including topics such as "How to Compete with the Large Chains: Don’t Just Survive… Learn How to Thrive!," and "How to Build a Strategic Marketing Plan"
  • "CEO" – including topics such as "The Future of Corporate Fitness; What Corporations are Demanding – It’s Not What You Think!" and "Winning the Influence Game: What Every Business Leader Should Know About Government," both sponsored by the International Fitness Club Network (IFCN) and EverWell
  • "Profit Centers" – including topics such as "Selling More Than Memberships" and "Growing Revenues in Youth Programming"
