IHRSA INVITES TENNIS CLUB OPERATORS AND PROFESSIONALS BOSTON November 8, 2000 The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) will offer a forum for tennis professionals featuring three industry organization leaders- Kurt Kamperman, president of the Tennis Industry Association (TIA), Alan Schwartz, first vice president of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Tim Heckler, chief executive officer of the United States Professional Tennis Association's (USPTA)- at IHRSAs 20th Annual Convention and Trade Show, on March 22, 2001, in San Francisco. The forum will open with a "State of the Tennis Industry" presentation by Kamperman, followed by an Interactive Internet Workshop, hosted by Kamperman and Heckler. Alan Schwartz, and the regional manager for Northwest Athletic Clubs, Jerry Noyce, will draw from their many years of successful tennis club operations for their joint presentation, "The Misunderstood Economics of Beginner Lessons." Continuing education credits for the forum are offered by the USPTA (2 credits) and MAP points are offered by the Professional Tennis Registry (formerly the USPTR). Additional credits (5 from the USPTA for the convention) are available. The program will be held from 1:45 - 4:45pm at the Moscone Center South. Admission to the forum is free to all convention or trade show attendees (the trade show itself is free to those who pre-register by February 28, and is only $25 on site, March 22).
