Clubs want to socialize with their members

Pura Vida Fitness and Spa often has themed events at its facility.When Pura Vida Fitness and Spa opened four years ago it had everything you would want in a club. The Denver location was a state-of-the-art, brand new facility. It had all the amenities in an aesthetically beautiful space. 

But, as General Manager Keith Moore put it, “even though we had a gorgeous space there wasn’t a lot of soul in the club” when the staff noticed that after the first year there was something missing. 

So, like any good business, those in charge put their heads together in hopes of finding a solution. The one thing that stuck out was 30% of the members were new to the area, coming from New York, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The staff was being asked everything from good places to eat or get a drink or suggestions for arts and entertainment. 

The realization was that Pura Vida wanted to me more than the club where members do a 60-minute workout and then go home. It strived to be social but it wasn’t providing for its clientele.
