Pros and cons of e-mail for member retention

There are many ways to keep members, well, members.

This quarter’s IHRSA Member Retention Report, in partnership with The Retention People, focuses on using e-mail to retain those who have been members.  

One of the headings of volume 2 of the report says it all: “Get e-mail right and it improves retention. Get e-mail wrong and it can have a negative impact.” 

To answer the question of whether e-mailing can indeed retain members, The Retention People conducted the largest ever controlled study in the health and fitness industry.
