(Photo: lintmachine)Imagine being able to drop the dog off for a personal training appointment before taking your seven-year-old to the gym for a mother/daughter group exercise class?

This somewhat bizarre scenario is not far from reality, as fitness businesses target their services to niches like dog owners and parents.

Rocky's Retreat is a health and wellness center for dogs in Orlando. They offer aqua therapy, canine massage, acupressure, aromatherapy and reiki. The facility is named after owner Sherry Cappabianca's golden retreiver, Rocky, whom she cites as her motivation to get certified in canine massage. (Yes, there is an accrediation process for canine massage.)

Mishfit is fitness franchise that gives gym-goers with young children a place to work out and bring the rugrats along. The company has 88 franchise available in Victoria, Australia. Their value proposition for potential franchisees is the balance they'll find between work and family.
