The Health Club Operator's Guide to the IHRSA Joining Forces Network

IHRSA is urging health clubs to help military families by getting involved in the IHRSA Joining Forces Network. What is the IHRSA Joining Forces Network, exactly? How does it work? Read on to find out.

What is Joining Forces?

Joining Forces is a national initiative that mobilizes all sectors of society to give American service members and their families the opportunities and support they have earned.

What is the IHRSA Joining Forces Network?

The IHRSA Joining Forces Network is an IHRSA initiative in support of Joining Forces that provides free health club memberships to immediate family members of deployed reservists and National Guard members.

How does IHRSA Joining Forces Network work?

As a part of the IHRSA Joining Forces Network, your health club will offer free memberships to immediate family members (ages 13 and older, where applicable) of actively deployed reservists and National Guard members. A 6-12 month membership is recommended. Your club can also offer additional services, like child care, children's programming and group exercise. Renewal options may be determined by the club.

Why should you participate?

As a health club participating in the program, you'll be helping military families by breaking down the barriers to a healthy lifestyle.

Who can get involved?

IHRSA member health clubs across the United States can get involved by registering at HealthClubs.com. We encourage any health club, whether or not you're an IHRSA member, to support military families.

How do you join?
