Madonna's 'Hard Candy' Club Chain is Leaving its Mark on the Industry

Recording artist, dancer and actress Madonna has been visiting gyms and dance studios since high school. Now she finds herself on the other side of the fitness business as the owner of Hard Candy, a chain that opened its first location in Mexico City recently.

She's not what you call an "absentee owner," either. Club Business International's (CBI) Jon Feld asked the Material Girl if she planned to actually workout at her clubs.

"Definitely," she replied. "In fact, I even taught a class at the November opening of the first Hard Candy Fitness in Mexico City."

This month's issue of CBI features an in-depth interview with Madonna. Read it in your print copy or online.
