Is Your Personal Training Program Hurting Your Retention Rates?

Kevin Hedley argues that while engagement is important, clubs may be going about it in the wrong way. While 60 percent of people say they care about staff interaction, a whopping 40 percent say they do not.

"Or they don't care for how we provide it," points out Hedley. It's very important to engage your members. However, health clubs should be careful about the way they do it. 

One tactic you should not use is high-pressure personal training sales situations. Third party personal training services, which health clubs can outsource their training to, have a large incentive to use pushy sales tactics and pressure your members to sign up, Hedley explains later in the DVD.
