Entries in points based rewards (2)

New rewards program at Celebrity Fitness

Celebrity Fitness, a chain in Asia, last week launched its STARFIT rewards program.

Club members earn points by doing various activities in the club. They then can redeem them at participating area businesses.

“I was literally the company’s first hire when we first started, so as Celebrity Fitness’ longest serving employee I can personally vouch how rewarding loyalty is engrained in our organization’s culture,” said Hendra Nugraha, vice president of Celebrity Brand and Marketing Services.

Members get double the benefits - that of exercising and items from the points they earn.

Points based rewards programs help in many ways

The health club industry is certainly a competitive one. More than likely there are numerous options within a few miles of work or home.

Any advantage in getting people in the front doors, getting them to come back often and retaining them is welcome.

A recent study shows that points based rewards programs are becoming both more popular and accepted by those who work out.

“The gyms and centers that do best are the ones that know who they are and do not try to be all things to all people. Most importantly, they truly focus on customer service and on making sure that they deliver an environment and services that will help their members meet their wellness goals,” said Meredith Poppler, VP of Industry Growth at IHRSA .
