Bill Proposes regular Inspections of Health Clubs

A bill was filed in a state legislature this week that would require routine inspections of health clubs.
The bill would require each health club to be inspected at least once every 6-months by a state appointed inspector. Clubs would be required to pay for each inspection. During their visit to clubs, inspectors would be specifically required to inspect and test all exercise equipment operated in the health club. Any equipment that is found by a state inspector to be unsafe or defective would have to be immediately removed. Clubs that do not comply would face a fine of $100 for each day that any such equipment remained available for use.
Ask yourself - what would this bill's impact be on your business...
This is true: House Bill 3736 (H. 3736) was filed in the Massachusetts legislature by State Representative Stephen DiNatale (Fitchburg) at the request of a constituent.
