Gold's Gym continues India growth

With the success of its first location in India in 2002, Gold's Gym has a plan to open 10 more in the next five years.

An example of the fervor in India was the Pune, Hadapsar, location that secured 750 memberships before it even opened its doors.

The 10 projected gyms will be a bit smaller than the current Pune location; Gold's Gym is also looking to open Gold's Gym Sports Club, which are larger facilities with more amenities. The hope is to open the first one in 2015.

The company's goal is to have more than 100 gyms open in 2014; currently there are 85 in 48 cities with more than 6,000 members.
