Ohio Aims to Repeal Tax on Ys, Leave it on Health Clubs

Legislation was introduced this week in Ohio that would exempt YMCA dues from the state’s tax on health club memberships.

House Bill 334 (HB 334) and Senate Bill 211 (SB 211) would exempt gyms, recreation and sports club services from Ohio's sales and use tax if they are provided by a 501(c)(3).

IHRSA will keep Ohio members informed of any developments on these bills. IHRSA members are invited to learn more at ihrsa.org/ohio.

To support IHRSA's efforts to make and keep health club memberships tax free across the entire country, please contribute (any amount welcome) at ihrsa.org/pledge or download a pledge form here.
