Advocating for Physical Activity: The Introduction of the PHIT Act

In his most recent Huffington Post article, IHRSA President & CEO Joe Moore speaks to the importance of physical activity in relation to the wellbeing of every American citizen and stresses the need to adopt policies and legislative measures that would encourage daily physical activity nationwide.

The industry has made progress this month with the introduction of the Personal Health Investment Today (PHIT) Act to the Senate.

Moore says, “…the PHIT Act (S.2218) acknowledges the preventive nature of physical activity. And its introduction signifies that members of Congress are recognizing that as a nation, we must change the way we live if America is to have a strong future.”
