Health Benefits of Exercise Report: Surgeon General Says Physical Inactivity The "Major Public Health Issue" In US

Health clubs in the US and overseas have been working to improve the health of their communities for years. Many health clubs offer a variety of health services to meet their members' needs, including weight loss programs, nutrition education, programs to address chronic disease, and youth activity promotion. But last week, acting Surgeon General Boris Lushniak put an exclamation point on the importance of physical activity promotion at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual meeting in Orlando. During a discussion of the impact of physical inactivity on the nations health, economy, and citizens' well-being, Lushniak declared "physical inactivity is the major public health issue in this country".  He went on to highlight the importance of community outreach and prevention, stating "health and wellness are a national treasure, and “physical activity is one of the most important things a person can do for improved health.”

Physical inactivity is the major public health issue in this country, and health clubs have the solution. A safe, convenient, supportive place where people of all levels and backgrounds can pursue a healthy, active life.

Physical inactivity is a really big problem for any country. Today most of the people suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure as well as over weight. Daily exercise is the best way to control this problem. But people don't care for it.
