Child obesity rates drop in some areas

Federal data released this week had some very encouraging news that 19 of the 43 states where data was measured saw a drop in the childhood obesity rates for low-income, preschool-age children. The data was from 2008 to 2011.

The analysis, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, saw the biggest drop in the U.S. Virgin Islands (11%).Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Missouri, and South Dakota saw at least 1% declines.
