Clubs participate in Get Active America

One of the beauties of Get Active America is a club can do as much as it wants or as little as it is able to, but it still gets the brand recognition from the 10-year-old IHRSA program and the National Physical Fitness and Sports Month - the two campaigns are running simultaneously. In the past  Get Active America had partnered with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign and the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award.

Also, by participating, a club is viewed in its community as a business that is working to combat obesity and sedentary behavior.

More than 150 clubs are participating in the program this year, but registration is open throughout May.

IHRSA asks participating clubs to do as little as open its doors to the community for a week in May, although that is not required. Some clubs see the promotion as an opportunity to show both non-members taking advantage of no guest fees or membership dues as well as members unfamiliar with classes and programs at their club.
