How did working out help you through tough times?

We are seeking personal stories from members of IHRSA member clubs of how exercising at a health club helped them during difficult times. Supportive health club communities are great resources for people struggling not only with with weight, but physical illness, depression, personal loss, difficult transitions, inactivity, etc.

Exercising in the safe, supportive environment provided by a club makes a difference and we want to promote that difference.

Please note, these stories should be from your members' point of view so please have interested members contact with their story on how exercising in a health club improved their health/life.

We are looking forward to some great health club success stories to share.

I love the idea of collecting member success stories. Long overdue. We need to share the underlying reason why so many of us believe in this industry. We want to hear that lives were changed, specific club individuals made a difference and that the club is having a real impact on its local community - often in more significant ways than the local icons (YMCAs, parks & rec community centers, services centers, etc.).

There ought to be a myriad of ways for you to disseminate those stories. We need to be around for positive PR and pitch more of it.

This a great direction.
