IHRSA 2013 Triumph

This month, March 19–22, representatives of the club industry’s many constituencies— thousands of independent club owners and operators, the heads of leading chains and franchise companies, fitness professionals, consultants, developers, investors, and journalists from throughout the world—will gather for IHRSA’s 32nd Annual International Convention & Trade Show at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Once again, IHRSA will pay tribute to the industry’s leaders and their achievements, its innovations and expansion, and its growing impact on the world stage. And, once again, attendees will share their expertise and ideas in a spirit of friendship and camaraderie.

Much about the event will be reassuringly familiar, but, at the same time, IHRSA 2013 will be like no other show—ever. The site, the speakers, the exhibitors, information about the convention and trade-show activities— all of it is brand-new and finely tuned.

For the very first time, the entire event— the lodging, general sessions, seminars, workshops, and trade show—will be housed in one place—the Mandalay Bay. This sparkling business and entertainment complex includes a 1-million-square-foot convention center, a 12,000-seat meeting facility, 24 restaurants, a casino, the unique Shark Reef Aquarium, and the 11-acre Mandalay Bay Beach.

The visitors who converge on IHRSA 2013 from the U.S. and more than 80 other countries will be able to choose from among 150 education sessions covering the newest trends, developments, and best business practices in the industry.

They’ll also hear from four inspiring general session speakers: Bert Jacobs, the cofounder and “chief creative optimist” of the Life is good company; Nicholas Christakis, M.D., Ph.D., an author, researcher, and pro- fessor at Harvard University; Chip Conley the founder of the Joie de Vivre Hotels chain; and Peter Sheahan, the founder and CEO of ChangeLabs, an Australia-based con- sultancy. Jacobs’ appearance is sponsored by SPRI Products, Inc.; Christakis’, by Technogym; Conley’s, by Matrix Fitness; and Sheahan’s, by MYZONE.

Attendees will also have numerous opportunities to make new contacts and rekindle old friendships. And for the first time, they’ll be able to use the new IHRSA app to pinpoint and track convention sessions.

The trade show, showcasing the products and services of more than 330 of the industry’s leading supplier companies, will take place in the Mandalay Bay’s South Convention Center over a two-day period (March 20–21). View a list of confirmed exhibitors as of January 20.  And thank you to our sponsors.
