52 tips for a healthy new year

The nice thing about this time of the year is you get lists that give you ideas you may not have thought of, or reminders of things that have slipped your mind.

The Los Angeles Times has a story that helps you meet your fitness goals for 2013 by giving you one per week - all at the same time.

Yeah, that is 52 tips to get in better shape and healthier. And many of them are quick and easy ideas you may not have thought of: taking the stairs instead of the elevator; using your kids and dog as reasons to take a walk, go to the park or throw the ball around; realizing that picking up a ready-made chicken at the grocery store and making a salad is as good as a convoluted recipe; and even adopting an avatar to give you an alter-ego to get you to work out more.

For all 52 tips, check out the story here.
