Influx of new members in January has changed slightly

Those who don't go to a gym regularly but have always wanted to, or know they should be going, often find incentive by deciding on a New Year's resolution. Many feel that if they put it in that manner it will be a juicier carrot on a stick in front of them.

For health club owners, the first couple weeks of January has always been a busy time due to this phenonemon.

Back five or more years ago, the first couple weeks of the new year saw the majority of those trying to fulfill the resolution. Now, due to a variety of reasons the influx of new members is down and they come in through the middle of February instead of mostly the first half of January.
