House Will Move to Promote Physically Active Youth

The House has plans to introduce two additional bills that aim to enhance physical education (P.E.) in America’s schools. The Fitness Integrated with Teaching Kids Act (FIT Kids Act), would improve quality standards for P.E., and the Promoting Health as Youth Skills in Classroom and Life Act (PHYSICAL Act), would provide much needed funding to PE by upgrading it to “core curriculum” status. Introduction of both bills is expected this week.
