Two Global Brands Pledge Support for Youth Fitness

Last week Michelle Obama was in Chicago to announce the launch of Let’s Move! Active Schools, an effort to bring physical education back to America’s schools. At the launch, Nike and Reebok both committed to getting America’s kids in shape by pledging $50 million (Nike) and $30 million (Reebok) to Let’s Move! Active Schools.

IHRSA attended the event and in the words of Tom Richards, IHRSA’s Senior Legislative Counsel, “It was a very inspiring, exciting event. Instilling the importance of physical activity and healthy behaviors in our youth is critical to our nation’s future, and schools play a very big role in doing so.”
