IHRSA and NCPPA United on Federal Agenda

IHRSA and the National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity (NCPPA) are ready to move on legislative initiatives that promote physical activity, including financial incentives for health club memberships, higher quality physical education and increased accessibility to physical activity for adults and children.

IHRSA currently co-chairs the NCPPA Policy Committee.  “As always, I am excited to be working with the NCPPA on critical advocacy issues that will help achieve our common goal of promoting physical activity,” said Helen Durkin, IHRSA’s Vice President of Public Policy.

IHRSA is a strong proponent of legislation that improves the physical activity levels of families and children, encourages worksite wellness and helps place a high value on the benefits of regular exercise. The shared priorities of IHRSA and NCPPA include passage of the Workforce Health Improvement Plan (WHIP) Act, funding of the Physical Education for Progress (PEP) grant program, and passage of the Personal Health Improvement Today (PHIT) Act
